New Followings…..

The best ting about the weekend is being able to kick back and enjoy my time with my family.
At this time my family is very small and manageable, and Matthew is 15 weeks today, so as you can imagine if you have children, life is a bit of a breeze for me at the moment, while we wait for teething to start :(

I spent alot of time on Twitter and came across “Windymiller”, not the real Windy Miller of course but the virtual adaptation whos mission is to to obtain as many pictures of Twitter celebrities waving to there respected web cams and phones all in the name of building a good twitter laugh.

FOr those who are still yet to fully trial and understand Twitter, or if you have been hibernating for the last several weeks and don’t spend alot of time watching the news. Twitter is the latest craze of micro blogging! A kind of Facebook status update to the world and not just your Facebook friends.

The best thing about Twitter however is the sheer number of real celeb’s. Today i knew every move of Jonathan Ross, Stephen Fry and even Jade Goodys mother (not celeb really).

So get on over there and remember to add www.twitter.com/trickyireland to your follow lst.

Obamas first mistake!

It pains me to write this but I think I may of spotted president Obamas first mistake in office.

While president Obama prepares to have his financial stimulus package approved by congress, among the breakdown of costs is one package to create a national network of computerised medical records at a cost $20 billions.

England has been rolling out a similar system to incorporate over 60 million medical records available to doctors, nurses, GP's and police if required by law.
At this time, the project has cost more than £7 billions

President Obama figures in this area do not add up, how can a country with more than 5 times the population of England achieve a similar technical project, over a vast amount of space and in a similar amount of projected time, achieve this with only a $20 billion budget?

If I am right and the project costs over the estimated amount, then this is Obamas first mistake.
If I am wrong and the project comes in under budget, then we were grossly over charged for the British IT Medical network.
We will have to see if President Obama gets this passed first, until then let's hope he amends his figures.

Juggling!

Juggling Juggling Juggling.
So many things to complete and not enough resources.
Website, help desk, crm database, general support, new business!
Everything above requires at least 1 resource per area. I really hope this down turn in economy starts to reverse soon.

I need resources and I need to fund it without agreeing to ridiculously stupid 25% interest rates.

We are a business that does well during a credit crunch, our products are always required and in demand however the good old business sport of always getting cleared funds from your customers before your suppliers get their invoices to your in box first, is no longer as easy as before.

The outlook this year is tough, very tough!

I have to admit, my excitement for new technology and services has been well and truly catered for this last few weeks. In the beginning you had a choice of services all offering the same thing and it was a simple competition to see who was better.

Facebook Vs Myspace
Facebook Vs Friends reunited
Facebook Vs Match.com
Facebook took on the world and won.

As a big advocate of cloud computing, the best thing for me lately is the way these major companies are finally allowing 3rd party integration allowing for the first time the consumer to use all services under multiple roofs however easily integrated.

My set up? Just in case your curious.
Blackberry 9000 bold with Facebook for blackberry app, twitterberry with twitpic support.
My online facebook account has its status updates auto fed from twitter using the pre configured API.
All pictures are uploaded either on the Bold or online and again get shared and updated automatically.

So why the need for such communication?

Simply, we are yet to find out the good or bad it will bring. All I know is I’m loving every minute.
X
